Riverheights FA Brings Solar Power to Goreangab: A Bright New Chapter for Local Youth

In a groundbreaking development for both Riverheights (FA) and the community of Goreangab, the academy recently installed solar panels to power its education/library container. This new initiative is a significant step forward in supporting the local youth and offering them opportunities for growth that were previously inaccessible.

Goreangab, a community where electricity is scarce/mostly non-existent, has long struggled with limited access to essential resources. Most of the children who train at Riverheights FA not only live in the area but also face the challenge of a lack of consistent power, making it difficult for them to study after dark or access online learning resources. However, thanks to the installation of solar panels at the academy, this situation is changing for the better.

With the new solar energy system in place, the education container—an essential part of the academy's infrastructure—can now operate to its full capacity. This development has already proven to be a game-changer. For the first time, the children and youth can study well into the evening, providing them with the opportunity to catch up on homework and engage in educational activities before or after training.

And...weekends at the academy have just gotten a boost as well! Thanks to the solar-powered energy, the children can watch both educational and entertaining movies and documentaries, providing them with opportunities for learning and relaxation.

The solar panel project not only highlights Riverheights FA’s commitment to developing well-rounded athletes but also our dedication to fostering an environment that supports educational and personal growth.

Further, this development underscores the importance of sustainable energy solutions in underserved communities, and Riverheights FA is leading the way in demonstrating how solar power can transform lives. The initiative not only addresses the immediate challenges of power access but also sets the stage for long-term impact, offering the next generation of young leaders the tools they need to succeed.

With this solar-powered education container, Riverheights FA has taken a monumental step in breaking down barriers to education and empowering the youth of Goreangab to dream big, work hard, and achieve their goals.
