Namibia has faced some tough times recently, especially with the heavy rainfall that has caused destruction across the country. The rains, which have been some of the heaviest in recent years, have resulted in flooding, landslides, and the displacement of some families in the informal settlements. Infrastructure has been damaged, and several communities have had to deal with the aftermath of these extreme weather conditions. Roads have been washed away, bridges collapsed and so much more.
The sporting community has not been entirely immune to these challenges either. Many fields and sports venues have been flooded or damaged, forcing some cancellations or delays of matches. For organizations like ours, the unpredictable weather has posed challenges as well.
Despite these setbacks, we are proud to report that our spirits remain high. We have refused to let the weather—or any other obstacles—stand in our way. Instead, we’ve used this challenging time to strengthen our resolve and push forward even harder. We are determined to continue offering a positive space for our youth.
As we move forward into the year, we remain committed to our mission, not just as a sports academy but as an organization that strives to make a meaningful difference. The rain may have affected our fields and schedules, but it has not dampened our determination.
